As founding editor of Upward Magazine, I helped shape its brand voice by curating content and leading an international team of writers. Together, we grew readership more than tenfold.
Upward Magazine was founded by Summer Johnson to share the journeys of unconventional travel and to inspire the next generation of explorers and influencers.
I was drawn to Upward's mission and delighted when Summer asked me to come on board as their first formal editor. I oversaw a team of international writers, edited all materials, worked side by side with the design team, communicating with photographers and provided counsel and copy across social platforms. We published monthly digital issues on Issuu and a large volume print edition in 2017.

With a global team of writers and photographers, our founder wanted to bring the pages to the life in print. I helped drive the transition from digital to its first-ever printed edition: Volume 001 released in 2017.
